NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Florence County Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed adoption of an Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF A NOT EXCEEDING ONE MILLION FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLAR ($1,015,000) GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND OF FLORENCE COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA (FLORENCE COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT), TO PRESCRIBE THE PURPOSES FOR WHICH THE PROCEEDS OF SAID BOND SHALL BE EXPENDED, TO PROVIDE FOR THE PAYMENT OF SAID BOND, AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO" in County Council Chambers, located on the 8th Floor, Room 803 in the County Complex at 180 North Irby Street, Florence, South Carolina at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2021, in conjunction with a regularly scheduled meeting of the County Council. For the payment of the principal of and interest on the Bond authorized by said Ordinance, there shall be pledged the full faith, credit and taxing power of Florence County and there shall be levied on all taxable property within the Florence County Fire Protection District (the "District") ad valorem taxes sufficient in amount to pay said principal and interest on the Bond. Proceeds of the Bond shall be applied to the cost of acquiring (including acquisition of real property), constructing, furnishing, and equipping vehicles and other equipment for use by the District. In an effort to minimize the potential spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19 and to protect County employees as well as the citizenry, citizens entering the Complex must wear a face mask/covering and observe social distancing guidelines. Members of the public may submit written comments with regard to the Ordinances for public hearing to the Clerk to Council at, fax to 843.665.3042, or mail to 180 N. Irby St., MSC-G, Florence, SC 29501. Written comments submitted via email or fax will be accepted until 9:00 a.m. on May 20, 2021. Mailed comments must be received in the Clerk's office by 5:00 p.m. on May 19, 2021. All written comments received by the Clerk prior to the meeting will be provided to Council for consideration. All written comments must reference the item being addressed and will be incorporated into the minutes of the meeting for permanent record. The meeting will be live streamed on the County website at Florence County accommodates individuals needing assistance to participate in programs, services, or activities sponsored by the County in compliance with ADA/Section 504.
