FLORENCE, S.C.— If you see pianos everywhere you go in the next few weeks, by all means play on it.
This is the third year of Play Me I’m Yours and 23 pianos will be placed throughout Florence and Lake City from April 22 to May 7.
Once finished and placed on the street pianos will be judged and prizes will be awarded for Most Creative and People Choice. The public can vote for the People’s Choice by calling a phone number on the piano and entering the piano number.
Decorating will continue through the month of March and pianos will be place in early April. Locations will include many sites in downtown Florence along West Evans and Dargan streets. City parks including Timrod, Florence-Darlington Technical College, Lula's Coffee Co., HopeHealth and House of Hope. There will be an opening night event on Friday April 21 on West Evans Street at the Willcox Law Firm beginning at 5 p.m. The program will feature a dueling piano team and street dancing.
