A Dillon man will serve 30 years in state prison after pleading guilty to murder in the 2009 shooting death of Anthony D. Robinson in Florence, 12th Circuit Solicitor Ed Clements III said.
Twelfth Circuit Judge Michael Nettles sentenced Corey Levi “MuMu” Wells, 18, of 702 Page St., on Friday. Wells also pleaded guilty to four counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, which are unrelated to the shooting, Clements said.
The sentences for the crimes will run concurrently; Clements said Wells is ineligible for parole and will serve “day for day.”
“The Florence Police Department did a wonderful job of putting this case together,” he said.
On Sept. 4, 2009, Robinson, 26, apparently was trying to get into a vehicle in the 300 block of North Dargan Street when a man came up to him and shot him with a rifle, according to Florence police reports.

Robinson made his way to nearby Trinity Baptist Church where he collapsed. Police said bystanders tried to give Robinson CPR in the church parking lot, but Robinson was pronounced dead at an area hospital about 3 a.m. that day.
A federal inmate was exonerated of all charges in connection with Robinson’s slaying , but another second suspect, along with the man who investigators said falsely implicated the inmate, face felony charges in the case, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said in a previous report.
Sean Taylor, 20, of 1313 Tallulah St., is charged with misprision of a felony after police said he lied to them about who shot Robinson to death, Raines said.
Calif Nashon Majid Smyer, 35, of 1102 S. Christopher Lane was charged with murder in connection with his death, but was cleared in the case after investigators learned Taylor gave them the wrong information concerning the identity of the shooter, Raines said.
That new information led to Wells’ arrest in February 2010 on murder and first-degree lynching charges, Raines said.
Well’s 24-year-old sister, Lauren Precious Wells, of 702 Page St., was arrested Oct. 14, 2009, and is charged with accessory before the fact of a violent felony and accessory after the fact of a felony or murder in connection with the case.
Clements said the cases against the others charged in connection with the crime are pending.
