Scranton man dies at Darlington County work site

DARLINGTON, S.C. − A Scranton man died Tuesday while working at a Darlington job site.

Derrick Allen Gaymon, 33, was working to clear a lot on Rose Drive in Darlington County when a tree fell on him, said Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:30 p.m.

The incident is under investigation by the Darlington County Sheriff's Office and the coroner's office, Hardee said.

Gaymon's body will be sent to the Medical University of South Carolina for an autopsy.
