Two hurt in Wednesday morning Irby Street crash

FLORENCE, S.C. — Two people were taken to a hospital Wednesday morning after the car they were in was struck from behind on South Irby Street.

The crash, which happened shortly before 10 a.m., occurred just north of the Irby Street and Cherokee Road intersection.

Medics with Florence County EMS and Florence firefighters worked to remove the drive and passenger from the car.

The crash is under investigation by the Florence Police Department.
