DARLINGTON, S.C. –  The Darlington County's reopening will continue Tuesday. Marion Charles Stewart III, Darlington County administrator, told the Darlington County Council Monday evening that Scott Suggs, clerk of court, plans to reopen the county courthouse to the public beginning Tuesday as long as those visiting agree to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

DARLINGTON, S.C. – A new courthouse for Darlington County took a big step toward becoming a reality Monday when the Darlington County Council gave unanimous approval to a resolution authorizing the county administrator to “engage and seek” an engineering and architectural contract for “the design, construction and completion” of a new courthouse.

Florence County had some rocky early days, and we’re not talking about the vigorous political debate that paved the way for Florence County to be formed from parts of four neighboring counties in 1888.
