DARLINGTON, S.C. – Darlington is searching for a new city manager. The city council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to not extend Howard Garland's contract, to pay Garland his salary and benefits for the remainder of the contract and to pay him a severance payment of $75,000.

DARLINGTON, S.C. — An employee of the city of Darlington has been terminated following a Facebook post over the weekend. The city announced Monday morning that that it's Clerk of Court Jonna Carter had been terminated first thing Monday morning following a post on a personal page of the social networking site Facebook over the weekend. Carter allegedly posted disparaging comments regarding the Nashville riots on a personal Facebook page on which she identified herself as a the city's clerk of court.
