Kingstree Junior Legion 2018

Kingstree Junior Legion's baseball players and coaches make a "W" with their fingers Wednesday night after beating South Florence Blue to clinch a spot in the main bracket of the state tournament, which begins today in Georgetown.

GEORGETOWN, S.C. -- Reed Tisdale’s RBI single in the top of the seventh gave Kingstree a 2-1 win against Horry in Saturday’s first round of the American Legion Junior state tournament.

Kingstree advances to Sunday’s second round at 4 p.m. against Aynor in Georgetown.

Winning pitcher Matthew Bazen improved to 3-0 this postseason, going the distance while striking out three batters.

E.J. Muldrow scored on a double steal in the first to account for Kingstree’s other run.
