MARION, S.C. — Marion County Complete Count Committee organized a U.S. Census call to action, encouraging the community to take advantage of the time to participate and be included.

Lt. Gov. Pamela S. Evette along with Mary Dell Hayes of United Way SC joined the meeting with local community leaders and elected officials to discuss plans and action steps needed for Census Day of Action. The morning event provided the public with the opportunity to drive up to the Marion County Administration Building and fill out census surveys to be counted.

Marion County Planning & Special Project director Ogleretta D. White said meeting was also to discuss challenges and opportunities related to getting a complete count. This year, the plans include a student subcommittee to help spread awareness.

Marion County had a population of 33,062 according to the U.S. Census Bureau. For more information the public can visit to complete surveys.
