SC budget has money for Marion County
Florence, Darlington and Marion counties are set to receive about $13.3 million in state dollars as part of a supplemental appropriations bill approved by lawmakers.
The South Carolina General Assembly on Aug. 25 passed the spending bill, which includes earmarked funding for facility upgrades, emergency response, public safety and town revitalization.
The three Pee Dee counties will receive $13,332,066 of the $350 million in local earmark spending approved in the bill. A total of 29 local projects will be funded with the state money.
The local projects receiving earmarks for the current fiscal year — which runs from July 1 through June 30 — are:
