Florence 1 Schools Adult Education received several awards from the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) during the Office of Adult Education’s annual “Celebrating Our Success” luncheon last week. The awards were presented in recognition of accomplishments from last school year.
For the third year in a row, Florence 1 Adult Education received an award for the “Highest Number of High School Diploma Completers.”
Adult Education also received an award for most participation in its Integrated Education and Training (IET), which includes its healthcare pre-apprenticeship.
Aligned with registered apprenticeships and local employers, the Pre-apprenticeship Program is designed to prepare participants for success in registered apprenticeship programs and/or direct entry into health care occupations. The pre-apprenticeship is a 30-hour program, offered over a six-week timeframe that engages participants, including ESL enrollees, in a supportive, blended-learning experience.
Additional information about the healthcare pre-apprenticeship, as well as other programs offered through Florence 1 Adult Education, can be found at f1adulted.f1s.org. Prospective students can also visit the McClenaghan Building at 500 S. Dargan Street for assistance with registration.
